Opening hours/fees

Admission Fee Adults (high school students and older): 400 yen (320 yen)
Elementary/junior high school students: 100 yen (80 yen)

Access information

Transportation (Streetcar)
From JR Okayama Station, take the streetcar bound for Higashiyama. After riding for about 5 minutes, get off at “Shiroshita” and walk about 10 minutes.

(Bus)
Take the bus bound for Okaden Takaya or Saidaiji via Higashiyama, get off at “Kencho-mae,” and walk about 5 minutes.

(Car)
About a 20-minute drive eastward from Okayama Interchange

(Airplane)
About a 30-minute ride by bus from Okayama Airport to Okayama Station
Parking Lot There is no dedicated parking lot for Okayama Castle’s Tenshukaku (castle tower).
Please use a nearby coin-operated parking lot.

Coin-operated Lockers
(Coin Return Type)
When entering the Tenshukaku (castle tower), you can find coin-operated lockers on the left side. You need to insert a 100-yen coin when using a locker, but the coin will be returned when the door is unlocked. Please change money using the nearby change machine.
Available hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Wi-Fi

Available for smartphones, tablet devices, etc.
Available area: Basement to the 6th floor of the Tenshukaku
  • *Up to 60 minutes per use.
  • *Wi-Fi is not available for some devices depending on the model.
Wheelchair One wheelchair is available for rent in Okayama Castle’s Tenshukaku (for use inside the building only).
It is available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.
For renting the wheelchair, please ask the reception staff.
Elevator You can use the elevator up to the 4th floor. Please use the stairs from the 5th floor to the 6th floor.
Souvenir Shop On the first basement floor, there is a souvenir shop that offers a wide variety of souvenirs including limited-edition original merchandise that you can only purchase in Okayama Castle’s Tenshukaku, as well as other merchandise unique to Okayama. Kimono Experience On the first floor, there is a Kimono experience area (free of charge). Here, you can dress up in Kimono and have your photo taken. Please feel free to try on Kimono with your friends or even by yourself.
It is available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.
Commemorative Stamp
& Stamp Rally
You can affix a commemorative stamp and other stamps only during opening hours. They are not available when the Tenshukaku is closed or after hours. Please note that the stamps are placed in an area where an admission fee is required.

Prohibitions in the Tenshukaku Okayama Castle’s Tenshukaku is a cultural facility. Please refrain from any actions that may compromise the protection of cultural properties or that may interfere with other visitors’ viewing and safety:
  • - Photographing in areas where photographing is prohibited (except where permission is granted by the facility)
  • - Use of photography equipment that interferes with other visitors’ viewing
  • - Eating and drinking (allowed only in the cafe on the first floor)
  • - Talking in a loud voice
  • - Sitting on the floor
  • - Using a smartphone while walking
