本段を守る門を支えた
六十一雁木下門横の石垣
池田家が新たな城主となり、下の段を大がかりに整備した時に築かれた石垣です。板状の大石を立てて組み込んだ部分が特徴的です。石段の上には六十一雁木上門が再建されています。階段を雁木といい、元の石段数が61段だったことが門の名の由来といわれています。

The Stone Wall Under Rokuju-ichi Gangi-shitamon Gate: Supporting the Gate that Protected the Main Level
This stone wall was built when the Ikeda Clan became the castle lords and did extensive work on the lower levels. Its distinguishing characteristic is the portion that incorporates large, standing plate-like stones. At the top of the stone steps is the reconstructed Rokuju-ichi Gangi-ue-mon Gate. The steps are called “gangi”, and the name of the gate is said to have come from the fact that there were originally 61 (“rokuju-ichi” in Japanese) stone steps.

이케다 가문이 새로운 성주가 되어 아랫단을 대대적으로 정비했을 때 만들어진 돌담입니다. 판자 형태의 커다란 돌을 세워 짜 넣은 부분이 특징적입니다. 돌계단 위에는 로쿠주이치간기우에몬(六十一雁木上門)이 재건되어 있습니다. 계단을 간기(雁木)라고 부르는데 원래 돌계단이 61단 있었던 것에서 문의 이름이 유래되었다고 합니다.
